Day 01After arrival, meet your private chauffeur and begin with two important west-coast sites traditionally associated with the Ramayana story: Munneswaram and Manavari. Continue to Negombo for a relaxed evening before the longer northern journey begins.
Day 02Travel north through Mannar and visit Thiruketheeswaram, an important Shaivite pilgrimage temple connected with the wider Ramayana tradition described in Sri Lankan pilgrimage itineraries. Continue across the northern landscape to Jaffna for the night.
Day 03Spend a full day in Jaffna with a northern Hindu pilgrimage and heritage focus. Naguleswaram and Keerimalai are key spiritual stops, while Nallur and Jaffna’s Tamil cultural setting add context without presenting every northern site as a direct Ramayana location.
Day 04Continue east to Trincomalee and visit Koneswaram, one of the major temple sites included on Sri Lanka’s official Ramayana trail. Allow time for prayer, the Shankari Devi shrine area and the dramatic cliff-and-ocean setting around the temple.
Day 05Travel toward Kandy with a tradition-linked stop at Sita Kotuwa near Hasalaka when weather, timing and local access make the visit practical. The site is approached respectfully as part of the Ramayana tradition, with the final schedule adjusted around road and walking conditions.
Day 06Climb into the hill country via Ramboda, stopping at Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple and scenic viewpoints before reaching Nuwara Eliya. If opening times allow, include Gayathri Peedam and leave enough time for prayer rather than rushing between sites.
Day 07This day is centred on the Nuwara Eliya sites most closely associated with the Sri Lankan Ramayana tradition. Visit Seetha Amman Temple and the Hakgala/Ashok Vatika tradition area, with Divurumpola and Gayathri Peedam included when route and opening times permit.
Day 08Continue south through the highlands toward Ella, linking Dowa Temple with Ravana Falls and the Ravana Cave tradition. Walking access and weather can affect the cave visit, so the private itinerary keeps the day flexible while protecting the main pilgrimage stops.
Day 09Travel from Ella to Kataragama and spend the afternoon and evening around the sacred complex. The exact order can be adjusted around temple opening times and puja schedules so guests have space for prayer and reflection.
Day 10Leave Kataragama for the striking red-earth coastal landscape of Ussangoda, traditionally linked with the Ramayana story. Continue along the south coast to Galle, where the evening shifts from pilgrimage to relaxed heritage sightseeing.
Day 11Visit Rumassala, traditionally associated with the Sanjeevani story, before travelling to Colombo. Depending on traffic and temple hours, include Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple today or keep it for the final morning.
Day 12Complete the pilgrimage with any pending Colombo temple visit and, when flight timing allows, Kelaniya Temple, traditionally associated with Vibeeshana. The final transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport is kept comfortably timed around the flight.
